The Institute for Innovation of the Republic of San Marino is a wholly State-owned company established by Delegated Decree no. 23 of 7 March 2018 with the aim of promoting, implementing, managing and developing an environment favourable to technological innovation and research in the Republic of San Marino, thus facilitating cooperation between local businesses, innovators, public administration, research and services, in synergy and collaboration with those of other countries.
One of the main functions of the Institute is to accelerate the positive impact that technology can have on citizens' lives; to achieve social goals in terms of economic growth, the creation of technological excellence, a new entrepreneurial and innovation culture, an increase in research activities also aimed at promoting the quality of life of the territories concerned and long-term employment; to contribute to the development of a new economy where innovation is the engine for an increased competitiveness of the Republic of San Marino and the neighbouring territories of the Italian Republic; to represent the reference body for the Parliament and the Government, as well as other public institutions and bodies, and also for interested private individuals, associations and companies, on the subject of innovation.
The objective is to support the national strategy in the short and long term, in collaboration and coordination with the responsible public offices also through the drafting of regulations aimed at promoting the growth of the innovative ecosystem of the Republic of San Marino.
